About Us

The Hantken Foundation was established in 2005 with the aim to help the palaeontological/sedimentological scientific research, dissemination and application of its new results. In addition, its aim is to improve the domestic higher-level education, to insert the latest research results to the curriculum by adding newly acquired knowledge and experience in education of different levels.

Miksa Hantken was a famous Hungarian palaeontologist/geologist, the founder of the Palaeontological Department of the Eötvös Loránd University and the first director of the Geological Institute of Hungary.
